CRAIG and MARIA - Owners

Maria and I were both born and raised in Whitianga so we are truely local owners with deep roots in Whitianga. We took over the gym from Rachel Naylor and we aim to continue and enhance her legacy of an inclusive facility that not only supports people from all walks of life to undertake their fitness journey but discover the mental health benefits that occur when you exercise in a friendly, accepting and supportive whānau environment. Whether you get out of breathe walking to the letterbox or you want to be an elite athlete, this is the place to be!

AIMEE  - Coach

I am a mother of 4 children, Jaeda, Lyric, Mya, and Marlee.  I was born and raised in Whitianga and I’ve always had a passion for sports and fitness.

After my last child, I was determined to get back into shape and I instantly took a liking to Rachel’s classes as they combined resistance training, gymnastics, and cardio.

I began to see the results that I had dreamed of achieving, not only in my body transformation but also in my sports, netball, touch, and kickboxing.

Coaching for me is so rewarding, and it is the BEST feeling when I see my Whiti Cross WOD family smashing out their goals and achievements.

Chonny- Coach

Sport and exercise have always been passions of mine, particularly netball, group fitness classes and the gym. I love this arena for the feelings of accomplishment, the mental workout and the results you achieve when you just stick at it. Whether it’s crossfit or not, find something you love doing, do it regularly, and even better, find a bunch of people who love doing that too! In the gym, I’m all for a weights session. Give me a heavy oly complex and I’m one happy gal.

GRACE - Coach & Six Week Challenge Coordinator

Hi my name is Grace, I grew up in Whitianga. My partner and I are now raising our beautiful daughter Ellie (1) here too.

After having my daughter I needed to get my health and fitness journey underway and joined the 6 Week Challenge at Whiti Cross WOD. At first I was really nervous to come to CrossFit as it seemed really intense. I quickly got over the nerves as everyone was so helpful and welcoming.

I am now running the 6 Week Challenges and can’t wait to help people get the amazing results that I got.

I am currently studying towards my certificate in Personal training. Eventually I hope to take some classes at Whiti Cross WOD.

Alana - Juniors Coach

Kia Ora, my name is Alana, and I am a qualified primary school teacher who will bring tremendous aroha, pride, and passion into my role as a Young Warriors coach.

I'm dedicated to developing positive and cooperative learning environments where children feel respected, valued for their individuality, and encouraged to believe in themselves as learners.

As a team we will motivate and encourage each other, we will celebrate our successes and be proud of our attitudes by being the best that we can be. I believe developing strong relationships with each other is essential for building a positive culture so exciting and rewarding learning experiences can occur.

It's about making a difference for every child and supporting them on their journey. Together, we can acheive great things.
